10/4/2023 0 Comments Thunderbird cafe manor![]() ![]() Very few places put it in on a saucer, and most places are either using to go cups or glasses now. Their drinks (I always get mochas) are excellent, and they serve them in mugs on saucers. I've lived in different cities and tried lots of cafes, and this one gets it right in areas a lot of places don't. Thunderbird is one of my favorite cafes in the world. I might even stop by for night time music. I will be in the neighborhood a lot in the next few weeks and will stop there many more times. The barista girl and sandwich guy were very nice to me. But it was ridged and crispy - and redeemed itself just a little. I am not crazy about white bread and it was white. In any case, the coffee was so delicious - I am sorry to say that I had to get mine to go - so the pretty foam picture had to be covered up - wah!Īlso, I got a chicken sandwich and of course can't remember the name, but I think they only have one chicken sandwich. I think there may have been another word in there, but I can't think what it was. I just copied the drink order of the girl in front of me - her drink sounded so good - it was a double short mocha. I just happened to drive by and recognized the name - Thunderbird - and remembered good reviews from Yelp - thank you yelpers. I had a late night and really needed another early afternoon cup of coffee to make it through the day. Ponder that while you consider yet another peculiar men's single-user restroom with both a toilet and a urinal in it, but no inner doors that separate the two, or the sink. The small, non-to-go 12oz decaf sure seemed a lot bigger than 12oz though. ![]() Why were the most popular ones for a Spanish tutor, with a pug wearing a sombrero, and for a personal organizer? (No, not an electronic calendar, somebody you pay to organize your household junk).Īll right T-bird, you don't lose any stars for that last one. I also noticed that there were some numbers ripped off of their bulletin board from people advertising services and stuff. Why Jaime? Why do they get 5 stars for uncomfy chairs? Why did they want to charge me 50 cents extra to get a soy mocha instead of a dairy-filled one? FIFTY CENTS? What year is this? Is this like that scene in Heathers where JD and Veronica leave a bottle of Perrier at the scene of Kurt & Ram's murder because in Sherwood, Ohio a bottle of Perrier is so alien, finding one next to two dead half-naked guys clinches it - they must have been gay? I know soy is still more expensive than the cow stuff but that's just too much, Thunderbird. I would definitely recommend Thunderbird. I was purchasing a mocha and a taco, when going to swipe my card the machine would not accept my swipe (even though I had plenty of money in the bank.) but because I come to the shop so often the barista covered me and gave me my coffee and taco free of charge! Great service to regulars. I also especially wanted to highlight an excellent interaction I had at this Thunderbird. I do have 2 critiques 1 is that they do not have outlets for charging devices, the 2nd is that it can get a little pricey, but with the cost they likely pay for the property I can understand. The food is good too, taco deli tacos in the mornings and some decent tasty options for lunch and dinner. (Would love a location further south, I'm down there during the summers and I gotta have my Thunderbird but I don't like driving half an hour for it.) The rude boy coffee blend they serve goes great with the mocha syrup, and I sorely miss its deliciousness when I'm away at college. ![]() ![]() I have been been coming to Thunderbird for a number of years and they have always had my favorite mocha in all of Austin. ![]()
